On Wednesday, Dropbox announced the availability of two new applications for the owners of Android-based devices out there, namely Carousel and Mailbox.

The latter has been available on iOS devices until now, but Dropbox has decided to expand its availability, and Android users can already download and install it today,

Mailbox has been developed as a new, completely redesigned inbox, which should provide users with the possibility to enjoy light, fast, and mobile-friendly email capabilities on their devices at all time.

With it, users can also archive messages or send them to trash with a simple swipe, while enjoying chat-like organization of conversations.

On top of that, the email app comes with support for snoozing emails until later, all with the simple tap of a button. Messages will return to the inbox when set to do so, but will allow users to focus on what’s important to them at a specific moment of the day.

“Now with Auto-swipe, Mailbox learns from your swipes and snoozes to automate common actions. Mute that conversation you don’t care about, snooze messages from your friend to this evening, or route all of your receipts to a list — automatically,” Dropbox notes in the application’s description.

What’s more, Mailbox has been designed so as to checks emails from the cloud, thus being capable of delivering them to users’ devices securely.

The mobile application also comes with a highly appealing user interface, as well as with high-end features that can provide users with a great email experience at all times.

As for Carousel, it was unveiled as a brand new mobile application and comes to devices as a gallery client, set to keep users closer to their memories.

“It combines the photos in your Dropbox with the photos on your phone, and automatically backs up new ones as you take them,” Dropbox notes in a blog post.

“Carousel sorts all these memories by event so you can easily travel back in time to any photo from any date. And unlike other mobile galleries, the size of your Carousel isn’t constrained by the space on your phone, which means you can finally have your entire life’s memories in one place.”

The app also comes with private conversation capabilities, so that users can share photos with their friends and family. Furthermore, it supports sharing of multiple files at once and also allows people to save images that others have shared with them.

Moreover, it will automatically back up all photos and videos to Dropbox, which means that users will have their memories safe at all times.

Both Carousel and Mailbox offer support for devices running under Android 4.0.3 and up.
