The Dropbox iOS application has been updated to version 1.4 with new features like a dedicated Uploads tab, bulk uploading of photos and videos, the ability to import files from Mail and other apps for immediate upload to Dropbox, and more.

Departing from the previously colorful welcome screen containing the main options in Dropbox, version 1.4 returns to a tab-based view in order to simplify the navigation experience, according to the developers.

Perhaps going back to how things were before is not bad, but the update could have at least included some pop - not precisely the same black and white tabbed view from the original version of the app. But that’s just one opinion.

As for the functionality, Dropbox remains one of our favorites as it now (finally) features the ability to upload multiple photos and videos from the camera roll to one’s Dropbox.

The new uploads tab shows all the queued files and one upload running each time. Aditionally, the app now integrates with iOS with an Open-In feature. The full changelog can be found below:

Dropbox for iPad sports a different interface, with much more information being displayed at a time, plus a two-pane view in landscape mode.
