Drone Tactics Hints VIII (DS)

Drone Tactics, or Konchuu Wars, as it was released in Japan, is a turn-based strategy game that uses an overhead map to move each unit into its desired location. At the end of each round, the title plays the battle scenes along with the cinematic for them, in a camera setting pretty similar to the latest installments in the Final Fantasy series, allowing players to view the results of their decisions. They can build their armies and customize them to fit any play style, with over 100 different weapons, upgrades and power-ups. Drone Tactics features 50 different maps, in which gamers can also go head-to-head in multiplayer matches over the local wireless connection.

As for the story of the game, the players are transported to the strange world of Cimexus, a planet where giant insects are fighting a vicious war. The Black Swarm is a fearsome military group of these insects that, above all else, seeks to destroy all its opposition and crush the otherwise peaceful critters of the planet. Gamers will be tasked with assuming control of the rest of the insects of Cimexus and defeat the Black Swarm.

The game was published by Atlus U.S.A., Inc. and developed by Success Corp. It was released on May 13, 2008, and was received pretty well by critics, as well as by the community.
