Pulled off in the meantime

Motorola Droid seems to be turning into one of the most anticipated mobile phones that will come to Verizon Wireless during the ongoing year, exactly the thing that the wireless carrier is counting on. The Android-based handset is expected to become official with Verizon on October 28, as the company already announced a press event for that day, and now the official specification list for the device has been spotted on Motorola's website.

Although Droid's arrival on Verizon is no mystery, it seems that Motorola pulled the phone's page off its website shortly after, though the lucky ones that managed to take a look at it already have some screenshots to confirm it was live for a couple of hours. Here's the link to the webpage, though we're pretty sure it won't return a valid page, at least for a few days from now on.

The specification list of Motorola Droid should be something you are already familiar with, ever since the phone was known on the web as the Motorola Sholes. However, a few details should be provided for those who might have missed some of the previous posts on the device. Droid's touchscreen display is 3.7 inches large, boasts a WVGA resolution and sports a 16:9 aspect ratio. In addition, the phone comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, and runs under Google's Android 2.0 OS (Eclair), being probably the first device to come to the market with it.

Other specs of the phone include a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi connectivity, Micro-USB, IM, email, SMS, MMS and voice mail capable, a 3.5 mm headset jack, accelerometer, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, proximity and ambient light sensors, and a 1400 mAh battery that can deliver up to 385 minutes of continuous usage time, or up to 270 hours of standby time.

Take a look at the images attached to this article to see Motorola Droid up on its manufacturer's website, and head to phandroid here to see additional images, as well as a shot comprising all the features of the handset, just as they were displayed on Motorola's website.
