One of the high-end Android-based mobile phones that should soon land on the market from handset vendor Motorola is said to be the Droid X, the same Motorola Droid Xtreme, aka Shadow, that made it into the wild a couple of times before. New photos with the device are available now for your viewing pleasure, along with some specs and a rumored release time frame.

Droid X by Motorola should arrive on the market as another successor of the original DROID by Motorola, currently available for purchase in the United States on Verizon Wireless' airwaves, in addition to another rumored handset from Motorola, the DROID 2. However, Droid X won't sport a QWERTY keyboard, is seems, though it should land at Big Red too.

When it comes to the specifications list of this mobile phone, rumor has it that it should boast a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, which can deliver a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. The display should come with improved color reproduction when compared to the first DROID. The gadget is said to measure 2.5 x 5.01 x 0.39 inches, while weighing in at 5.47 ounces.

Boasting dual-band 1xEVDO connectivity, the Droid X by Motorola is expected to pack a TI OMAP3630 processor inside, though some suggest Motorola might have changed its mind and included a Snapdragon chip inside the phone. An updated Motorola MOTOBLUR user interface should also be included, bringing in a series of enhancements over the previous version.

As for the release date of the Droid X by Motorola, rumor has it July is the lucky time frame. Previous reports on the matter pointed towards this release window too, though it seems that one change was made here, regarding DROID 2's launch, originally expected to happen in July, and now rumored for August. Until official details on this emerge, one might want to take a look at the new photos with Droid X (courtesy of Gadget University, via phandroid).
