It appears that Motorola and Verizon are not yet done with the launch of new DROID mobile phones, and that a new DROID 2 version might be in the works, as Motorola's website has just showed.

What some lucky people have managed to spot on the mobile phone maker's website includes reference to a device called Droid 2 Global, though nothing official was actually announced on the matter.

However, what this new device appears to be is a Motorola Droid 2 smartphone with Quad Band antenna inside, making it fit for worldwide use, as the guys over at PhoneScoop note.

Moreover, the leaked info on this smartphone suggests that we're looking at a device packing a 1.2GHz processor inside, which should provide enhanced performance levels, that's for sure.

At the same time, Motorola's website suggests that the new handset would come with a redesigned QWERTY keyboard, which would be thinner than the original one, and presents some of the specs the phone would land on the market with.

Thus, we should expect for it to include up to 40GB of storage space, with 32GB available via memory card slot, suggesting that we're looking at 8GB of internal memory.

A 5-megpixel photo snapper with auto focus and dual-LED flash, is also said to have been included into the mix, as well as and improved touchscreen display that would deliver better responsiveness.

Support for 3G connectivity was packed inside this device, as well as 3G mobile hotspot capabilities and, of course, Wi-Fi fucntionality.

The phone is said to be capable of offering great features specifically designed for business users, such as productivity applications and the like.

Unfortunately, no image with the phone made it into the wild for the time being, but it might not be too long before photos with it surface, especially since Motorola itself was the one to leak the info on Droid 2 Global.

Other details also lack for the time being, but Motorola and Verizon might make an official announcement in the near future, so keep an eye on this space for more.

In the end, we should note that this is not the first time a global edition of Droid 2 with a 1.2GHz CPU makes it into the wild, and that it might actually prove to be a different device than the DROID Pro, even if previous suggested they would be one and the same phone.
