GTA copycat turned next-gen?

Apparently, Nintendo Wii gamers will get one more PS2 game, in the form of Driver 4: Parallel Lines. This seems like a certain fact if we are to believe codenamerevolution (a Nintendo Wii specialized website).

They even have a release date, as they claim that Parallel Lines will come out on the 15th of March 2007. They base their statement on "an updated list" from their local distributor regarding upcoming Wii titles to be released.

This looks very plausible as Ubisoft promised 14 games by March for Wii, out of which just 7 are out. Considering that other Wii ports like Far Cry: Vengeance, Blazing Angels and Prince of Persia are on their way, a Nintendo Wii Driver doesn't seem that absurd.

Driver: Parallel Lines is the fourth video game in this racing/third-person shooter series from Atari. It was released back in March 14 of 2006 for PS2 and Xbox consoles, and some consider it as a Grand Theft Auto wannabe. I didn't have the extreme pleasure of playing it, but from what I can tell by watching some screens and trailers, they are probably right.

The game is set in just one town, New York, unlike other installments in the Driver series. Parallel Lines follows a young kid, named The Kid (very original), who is also called TK. This is the first game in the series which does not follow Tanner. The game begins in the year 1978 and we see TK working as a wheelman for a New York criminal organization. TK advances quickly in this criminal organization but some unfortunate mishaps throw him in jail. He spends 28 years in the famous Sing Sing prison and is released in 2006. He vows to get back on those who put him in jail and sets out to kill them.
