Developer Evolution Studios released a brand new gameplay video from the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive racing game Driveclub, showcasing the challenges that players will have to face soon.

The new trailer was released at Gamescom, a video game trade show taking place in Cologne, Germany, during Sony's press conference event yesterday.

Driveclub is a game about the thrill of driving the fastest and most exciting cars on the planet, and sharing that good, clean fun with your friends and online clique.

The newest video from the racing game shows expecting fans how challenges work in the upcoming Driveclub, and how they work as the means to prove who's got the skills to earn fame for their club.

The developers have gone to some length to make sure that players will always have something to race for, and that the upcoming game is not merely about crossing the finish line first.

Granted, coming in first will come with big rewards, but there is a lot more to play for in each and every race, from individual challenges to earning rewards for your club.

Players will be able to earn points for driving with flair or precision, gaining accolades for cars and clubs, and will be challenged to beat face-offs for drifting and speeding, in addition to crossing the racing line first.

Fame is earned in a multitude of different ways, helping players unlock new cars and various liveries for their clubs.

The video features a lot of friendly faces from various Sony developers such as Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Sony Santa Monica, XDex, SCEE and the man himself, Shuhei Yoshida, playing Driveclub and talking about the refreshing experience that the game delivers.

Players will be able to create their own challenges and to invite whoever they wish, friends or foes, with the rewards growing to scale to the number of players and clubs involved, with the added option to allow other drivers to issue their own invitations, with the potential for your spontaneous event to go viral.

The game makes ample use of the PlayStation 4's social features, employing the PlayStation Plus network and the share features to manage teams together with other players.

Driveclub has been confirmed to run in 1080p at 30 frames per second. Although the game was initially supposed to run at 60 FPS, the decision to lower frame rate was motivated by the team's intention to add more detail to the game world and have everything look better.

Driveclub is currently scheduled to come out on October 7 in North America, October 8 in Europe, and October 10 in the United Kingdom, headed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony.
