Evolution is making progress and the online mode is better

Driveclub developer Evolution Studios confirms that the online servers for its PS4 racing game are slowly getting better, which means that more features should start appearing in the following days.

Driveclub finally appeared around the world last week, and while it promised a seamless social racing experience, it hasn't exactly delivered on that promise as its online servers have been swamped, and due to issues with the multiplayer portion of the game, many fans have been unable to play with others or manage their own club.

Evolution has worked hard to fix these issues and rolled out quite a few updates, both for the actual game and for its servers to try and eliminate any and all errors. Unfortunately, these problems are still persisting around the world, meaning many PS4 owners who had to endure a delay of almost one year have been unable to experience the game as intended.

Servers are getting better

After working hard on finding the causes of the issues and trying to come up with solutions, Driveclub developer Evolution is finally making some progress

The studio confirms on the official Facebook that the servers are showing a steady increase in performance after several upgrades, which means in turn that more and more players are being allowed to connect at the same time.

Evolution explained last week that its strained servers were allowing new players to connect only when existing players disconnected or ended their session. The process was also random, meaning you didn't have more chances to go online if you had been in the game for a longer period of time.

A new server update is coming and more features should follow

The next server update should debut soon enough, and once it's live, Evolution wants to roll out more online features for the racing game.

"The next server update is coming within 24 hours and will mean we can start to switch on more of the online features, so that you will be able to play more of Driveclub online. We are sorry that we don't have more concrete news to share right now, but please be patient. We will have more information for you tomorrow," the studio says.

PS Plus owners should also expect the arrival of the free Driveclub PS Plus edition soon enough, once the servers are working as intended.

As of yet, there's no word on how Evolution is going to make it up to Driveclub owners who had to endure the issues, although its Game Director confirmed yesterday that some form of compensation was coming.
