PlayStation 4 exclusive racing game Driveclub is out for North American gamers to try out, and it's coming tomorrow to Europe too.

Developer Evolution Studios certainly took its time with the racer, initially scheduled for release in November 2013, part of the PlayStation 4's launch lineup. The title was pushed back repeatedly, but we all know that it's better to wait a while longer in order to get a better game, even when that means holding back for an entire year.

In any case, the developer created a powerful engine that has drawn a lot of praise from those lucky enough to witness the game's gorgeous visuals firsthand, and hopefully the driving experience will also match the level of visual detail that Driveclub offers.

The game runs in native 1080p resolution, capped at 30 frames per second, a decision which the developer said was due to the fact that the team would much rather offer a rich visual experience, with more stuff on the screen at the same time, than have a lot less assets and 60 frames per second.

Snap stylish selfies while driving

One of the features that Evolution Studios made available right off the bat was a Photo Mode, a feature which is growing increasingly popular, since the introduction in Sucker Punch's Infamous: Second Son and later on in The Last of Us Remastered from Naughty Dog.

The trending feature enables players to pause the game and take beautiful photos, and then share them with their friends on the ample social structure that Sony integrated in its latest computer entertainment system.

For the time being, the developer did not detail the features available to players when using Photo Mode, whether they would be able to apply any filters and transformations, or whether they would only be allowed to capture verbatim gameplay moments, but fortunately, we got our hands on a couple of videos showing just that.

A bunch of options to toy with

Game Director Paul Rushchynsky showcased the game at a recent community event, and someone recorded some off-screen gameplay footage from the demonstration, which also highlights the Photo Mode.

Driveclub's Photo Mode enables players to toy around with the camera, aperture, shutter speed, in order to obtain various results, and also to apply a multitude of different filters, in order to enhance their snaps.

A second video popped up from a press conference held in Moscow last week, showing Art Director Alex Perkins discussing the popular Photo Mode and how it can be utilized to capture impressive gameplay moments which can then be shared via the PS4's Share feature.

The developers also mentioned some of their plans for post-launch support, including adding replays and dynamic weather to the racing game, sometime later this year.
