Evolution Studios, the developer of the upcoming Driveclub racing title, has made sure that the game's visual and even audio quality has increased in the extra months of development, so that players feel immersed into the whole experience.

Driveclub was initially set to debut last November, alongside the PlayStation 4 console, but developer Evolution and publisher Sony decided to push back its release until spring of 2014. Recently, however, it's been confirmed that the game will now appear in October, almost a year after its initial release estimate.

Evolution has mentioned that the delay was necessary to ensure that the whole experiences works well on the PS4 and that it won't disappoint the millions of owners of Sony's new console.

While talking with VG247, the game's new Director, Paul Rustchynsky, has revealed some of the different improvements made to the title during this extra development time, from the car models to the environments in the different tracks.

"They’ve relished the opportunity to polish other areas," he said, "whether that means the cars; we’ve been able to add more cars and add more detail to them. We’ve talked about the level of detail that we’ve gone to, I mean it’s obsessive."

"We re-created the screws, and all these little embellishments on all the various cars, and we wanted to make sure it really felt like this is a real thing you’re sat in. With the worlds we wanted to make sure we had the biggest and best vistas, the richest and densest environments, so it’s about adding more content and making it feel like a truly next-generation experience in terms of the visuals."

What's more, the audio side of the whole game has also been significantly upgraded, so that the real cars are recorded in the best ways possible and that sound is brought successfully into the game

"This extends to the audio experience as well. We’ve taken more time to add to the audio experience. We were already pushing the limits of what’s been done before in driving games with our capturing techniques. We take each and every car, take them to the track, mic them up in a unique patented way, but this extra time was just more polish, same with the handling."

Driveclub is now set to debut this October exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Sony and Evolution are expected to reveal quite a lot of extra details as we get closer to that release and to large events like E3 2014 or Gamescom 2014.
