Driveclub, the recently released PS4 exclusive racing game, is still plagued by online problems, even after getting patch 1.03 over the weekend, and developer Evolution Studios is considering the release of compensations and rewards for owners of the title.

Driveclub was hyped up in many ways last fall, as it was initially set to appear right alongside the PS4, but unfortunately, got delayed by almost one whole year, so that Evolution Studios could fine tune and polish the dynamic social experience that's at the heart of the new title.

The game finally launched last week on the PS4 but it seems that new issues appeared, this time relating to the multiplayer aspect of the racing experience, as the many owners weren't able to connect to the game's servers.

A new patch is available but doesn't fix the issues

Evolution has been working hard on solutions for these problems and confirms on its Facebook that a new update is available for download, in the form of Driveclub patch 1.03.

Unfortunately for fans, the new update doesn't fix all the issues, and even with a separate server-side patch, many owners still report problems with their online mode.

Driveclub Director Paul Rustchynsky confirms on Twitter that the Evolution team has been working hard all weekend but the bugs in its multiplayer code are proving hard to tackle.

"We have been working all weekend & we are making progress but its proving to be a challenging issue to address. We’ve got the team working extremely hard trying to address the problems, we understand just how serious this is. We’ve got no limits to the amount of servers or the quality of hardware, its purely down to the server code having some bugs," he explains.

Different compensation options might be released

In order to keep fans from abandoning the racing game, Rustchynsky has also answered a question regarding how the studio is going to make up for these issues, saying that the developer is considering all of its options.

As such, fans who got Driveclub and are still encountering problems when it comes to the online mode should expect some sort of compensation in the following weeks, once Evolution actually finishes working on solutions for the aforementioned issues.

Until then, you can expect to hear more from the studio as it approaches a solution to ensure that all Driveclub owners are having a great online experience. What's more, once the issues are solved, you can expect the free Driveclub PS Plus to finally be released for subscribers of Sony's service.
