Evolution Studios, the developer behind the upcoming Driveclub racing game, has confirmed that the new experience is going to evolve over time after its launch and that plenty of DLC is already being planned, such as new cars, tracks, and other surprises.

Driveclub was set to debut initially in November of last year, right alongside the PS4 console. Unfortunately for racing game fans, developer Evolution and publisher Sony decided that a delay was needed to give it extra development time and ensure a high quality experience.

Driveclub is now set to appear this October and Evolution's Game Director, Paul Rustchynsky, highlights the constantly evolving nature of the racing experience to RedBull.

According to the developer, plenty of ideas to enhance the game have appeared during the extra creation time and some will be revealed ahead of launch.

"We’ve always viewed it as a game that will evolve over time, growing with its players in the same way that you see the most popular social networks grow with their users. We’ve already got lots of innovative ideas to extend the experience and we’ve already announced the powerful dynamic weather system we’ve been working on, which is just one of the ways we’ll be expanding the game. We have more lined up to unveil in the coming weeks and months, too."

The weather system referenced by Rustchynsky was presented a few weeks ago and aims at ensuring a variety in terms of effects on longer tracks.

Speaking on content, the developer also promises that his team is going to keep the game fresh after launch via downloadable content, bringing new cars and tracks, not to mention surprises for fans of the racing game.

"We want to keep the game lively and fresh for a very long time and we also want to keep innovating with DLC in a big way," he says. "So you can expect new cars and tracks along with lots of surprises and exciting events. You’ll have lots of good reasons to keep playing Driveclub for a long time after launch, that’s for sure."

Already Driveclub is set to include a variety of cars and tracks, so it's going to be interesting to see just how Evolution aims at expanding its wealth of content. Also, it's unclear if some will be offered for free while others are going to require payment.

Driveclub debuts this October exclusively for the PS4 platform.
