Evolution has no new details about the free PS4 game

Driveclub developer Evolution Studios is aware of the server issues encountered by players of the new racing game on PS4, as well as the fact that quite a lot of regions still don't have access to the free PlayStation Plus edition that was promised by publisher Sony.

Driveclub was awaited by millions of PS4 owners worldwide, as not only were they eager to see if the year-long delay had been worth the wait, but also to try it out for free, via the PlayStation Plus edition of the game, which includes some tracks and cars from the full game, not to mention all the online features.

The title finally launched yesterday, on October 7, in North America, and is set to go live today, October 8, in Europe and other PAL regions.

Evolution is aware of the server problems

However, it seems that owners of the game, no matter their region, are reporting quite a few issues with the Driveclub servers, with error messages blaming their internet connections, despite them working without a problem.

The studio has offered a statement on the official Facebook page, confirming that it's aware of the issue and that it's investigating the root cause.

"We are aware however that many players are receiving an error message indicating 'there is a fault with your internet connection' and we are investigating what appears to be a wider server issue behind this problem," the studio mentions.

The fault is with the servers, apparently, so players shouldn't try to reinstall the game or restart the racing experience, as it won't have any effect.

"It's not affecting everybody and the game will keep trying to connect to the server automatically, so you don't need to do anything with the game (like re-install or restart over and over) to establish connectivity."

The Driveclub PS Plus Edition still isn't available

Evolution also mentions that it's quite aware that the promised free Driveclub PS Plus edition isn't available in North America, where the game is already out. Unfortunately, the studio has no new info about when the digital download is going to go live.

Users on Reddit reveal that Driveclub PS Plus edition is available in some regions, like Hong Kong, but still missing in the likes of North America, not to mention PAL territories from Europe and other parts of the world.

As of yet, Sony has yet to offer any statement concerning the missing PS Plus version of Driveclub.
