Data recovery company DriveSavers has recovered over six billion data files for Apple users since the company’s debut some 25 years ago. So they decided to announce the feat to the world.

According to their estimates, six billion data files are the equivalent to the amount of data stored in the Library of Congress - one of the largest databases in the world.

Everything from videos, digital photos, financial files, to personal documents, address book contacts, calendar entries and music has been rescued using DriveSavers’ solutions for Mac OS X.

Since Apple products continue to become immersed in the mainstream of businesses and consumers, DriveSavers expects to save even more critical data in the future - “due to user error, physical damage, mismanagement and software or hardware failure.”

They also anticipate that recovering data will become progressively complex. The reason? Solid state drives (SSD) such as those used in the iPad and iPhone.

However, “DriveSavers has more expertise, technology and capabilities to successfully recover data from Flash memory-based solid-state devices than any other data recovery company,” the company confidently states.
