Sources are claiming that the PlayStation 4 bound DriveClub has been delayed into 2014 after the development team working on it has failed to deliver the quality that Sony was expecting from the racing experience.

Kotaku quotes a developer who is familiar with the development process as saying that the game is now expected to be launched in the spring of 2014.

A representative from Sony has confirmed that DriveClub is no longer part of an event that's supposed to showcase launch titles for the PlayStation 4, but that the move was linked to a scheduling conflict.

The racing game was heavily promoted as a PS4 launch title and was supposed to show off the more social aspect of the new console.

The Crew, another title in the same genre for the next generation of devices, has also been delayed into the second half of 2014 by Ubisoft.
