A message sent to those who pre-ordered the upcoming DriveClub racing game suggests that it might be getting an official launch date of October 3, although no official information coming from the development team or publisher Sony is ready to confirm it.

NeoGAF has posted one of the messages that gamers have received from Amazon.

DriveClub was supposed to be one of the launch titles for the PlayStation 4 from Sony, but it was delayed in order to give the development team more time to make sure that the quality of the experience is the one that players were expecting.

Sony has recently said that it will offer more info on the title in the coming weeks, but it’s unlikely that it will mention a launch date before E3 2014.

DriveClub will bring a racing experience that will try to balance traditional simulation and arcade elements, focusing on the player’s ability to join a group of other racers and compete in events that they themselves create.

Sony has promised that the game will have a deep social element and that it will use the extra power of the PlayStation 4 to offer a set of mechanics that will change the entire racing genre for the better.
