Video game developer Evolution Studios and publisher Sony announce that they are planning to deliver a Season Pass for their upcoming DriveClub, which is designed to deliver new content, both free and paid, for gamers up until at least June of 2015 in order to keep the community interested on the racing game.

In the official PS Blog announcement, the two companies are explaining that they are aiming to make sure that millions of gamers stay connected and play together in new and interesting ways, and that means that much of the new content will be designed based on the feedback coming soon after launch.

Sony states, “We’re already working hard to develop free updates that will introduce a powerful weather system (that you can play around with to change the dynamics of every race) and a photo mode, because they’ve both been requested ever since we first showed how you can control the time of day and skies in the game.”

More tracks and one new car every month will be offered for free from October of this year until June 2015, but the development team has not offered any sort of details on the vehicles that gamers will get access to.

DriveClub will also have a Season Pass

The racing game will also get paid downloadable content and it seems that the support for free DLC will go deeper into 2015.

Sony adds, “This will let you buy packs of new cars and new campaign tour expansions, to give you more to play for each month. This calendar will start in November 2014 with every pack offering new challenges to play and new Trophies for you to earn.”

A Season Pass for everything that the studios have to offer will be available for 24.99 dollars or Euro, and those who get it will benefit from a 60 percent price cut when compared to the value of the packs when bought separately.

Sony is encouraging all those who get DriveClub on launch to play as much as possible and to offer feedback on the title in order to make sure that Evolution Studios has the info it needs to improve it in the long term.

The racing game will be offered exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on October 7.

It was initially set to arrive when the new Sony console launched, but it has been delayed to make sure that the core mechanics delivered the quality players were expecting.
