Video game publisher Sony and car manufacturer Mercedes announce that the newly revealed Mercedes-AMG GT will be featured exclusively in the upcoming DriveClub title, which will only be offered on the PlayStation 4.

The official announcement on the PS Blog states, "Even though the car will be released on the market in 2015, it´s going to be available exclusively in DriveClub as free DLC right after the game´s launch. This is thanks to a close collaboration with the guys at Evolution Studios, who have been able to replicate the car in astonishing detail."

The car makers at Mercedes are also saying that the new racing title from Sony manages to capture the thrill of the activity and to deliver a faithful virtual representation of what driving at high speed on a variety of roads feels like.

The German company is also running its own DriveClub-like competition and invites all interested players to take part before the actual PS4 experience is launched.

Sony has already said that it wants its new racing experience to constantly evolve over time and that its delay was used in order to polish the quality of the gameplay.

DriveClub will be launched on October 7 in North America and one day later in Europe.
