The development team at Evolution Studios and publisher Sony are announcing that gamers who own DriveClub will soon be able to get access to the new Redline expansion for the racing game, which is designed to expand the content offered in the title and create a more varied experience for all fans.

The new video shows off the five new superb vehicles that will be delivered, the new tour, which includes 11 new events and 5 more Trophies that can be gained.

At the moment, Redline for DriveClub is set to be launched via the PlayStation Store on December 17 in Europe and on December 23 in North America.

Redline is designed to appeal to fans of the racing title who have stuck with it since launched despite its problems and now want to enjoy a range of new content that uses its unique mechanics.

The development team at Evolution also says in the comments section that it is aware of the issues that some gamers are experiencing when getting access to the Ignition expansion pack and advises those affected to try to go to the special Tour offered again and then select an event to download the cars to play.

The studio states, "Please keep in mind that your Store add-ons must be downloaded from the Store that matches up with the version of the game that you own (i.e. for a US copy of the game, add-ons must be downloaded from the US PlayStation Store)."

DriveClub will continue to get updates and expansions

When it was first offered in early October, DriveClub was in rough shape both from a gameplay perspective and from an infrastructure one.

Since then, Evolution and Sony have worked together to deliver updates and improve the overall player experience, which means that now the vast majority of gamers are able to log into the title and experience its unique mechanics.

A patch 1.08 was delivered in early December in order to offer dynamic weather and make other improvements, and more tweaks are expected in the near future.

Unfortunately, the promised special version of DriveClub that was supposed to appear for PlayStation Plus subscribers is missing in action, and the developers are saying that, at the moment, they are focused on the core game.

More expansion for the racing game will be offered in 2015.
