14 DAY TRIAL // One month ago, during an appearance on Jay Leno to promote her makeup line, Drew Barrymore talked about her hopes of having many children, a large and happy family with husband Will Kopelman. She’s getting her wish because she’s already pregnant with her second child.
Drew and Will have a daughter, Olive, who is just 13 months old. In a statement to People magazine, in which she confirms the happy news, the actress says a sibling is more like a “present” from God to her daughter, because they badly wanted her to have one.
As for the reason Drew chose not to wait too long before breaking the happy news, she says she didn’t want to be scrutinized in the media as she was the first time she was pregnant. She was tired of being hounded by the paparazzi everywhere she went.
“Last time I never commented on it and people just stalked me the entire time. So yes, it's happening, it's true. I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible,” she explains.
“When I found out I was overjoyed. It always feels so surreal, it's incredible. [I'm feeling] incredible, that ‘Here we go again’ feeling. And blessed. Blessed! You're so lucky to get to do it. It's such a miracle. I just felt really lucky,” the actress adds.
Furthermore, she says she’s happy and healthy, and with an appetite that’s almost freaking her out, because she can’t “stop” eating and is constantly craving for Chinese food.
Pregnancy cravings and morning sickness aside, Drew, Will, and Olive are enjoying this special moment in their life and can’t wait to welcome the newest member of their family into their midst.
“Will is just thrilled — we both are — [because] we just wanted so badly for Olive to have a sibling. In some ways, it’s really for her. So congratulations, Olive!” Drew gushes for People.
