Rom-com duo will star together in another rom-com, “Blended”

A heavily pregnant Drew Barrymore turned on the waterworks during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon at the end of what was meant to look like (but was most likely not) an impromptu duet with her and Adam Sandler.

You can see the duet, an original song called “Every 10 Years,” embedded in the video above. It’s based on the idea that these two have starred together in rom-coms on a regular basis, starting with the 1998 hit “The Wedding Singer.”

Speaking of which, the duet also included a reference to that film, which actually got Drew (and myself) teary-eyed. If you never saw the film, the second video embedded below should help you better appreciate the sweetness in Adam’s decision to sing to Drew, “I could be the man who grows old with you.”

All that was missing from the moment to be absolutely perfect was a little Billy Idol. But, you know what they say, beggars can’t really be choosers.

Drew and Adam got some backing up from Fallon himself, who strummed on the guitar as they sang off-key but with a lot of emotion. Drew actually starred with Jimmy in “Fever Pitch,” which was why Adam asked her if he was a better onscreen husband than Fallon.
