Since the Christmas shopping spree is approaching fast (well, right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, that is), XtremeMac has decided to offer iPod touch and nano owners a very pleasant surprise and launched a new lineup of protective cases designed specifically for the latest-generation portable media players released by Apple.

Being designed specifically for the 4th generation iPod touch and 6th generation nano, these new case lines allow access to all ports, jacks and new features for the recently announced iPod models, meaning that they don't impede in any way the two players' functionality.

According to XtremeMac, the iPod touch 6th generation cases include the signature Tuffwrap silicone case line, Microshield plastic impact-resistant case line and Hybrid two-piece plastic and silicone design cases.

The Sportwrap, available for the new iPod nano and touch, is a high-performance, lightweight armband designed for the active iPod user that has been specifically constructed with soft, durable lycra and neoprene, protecting from sweat and keeping the device securely in place during workouts.

Also available for both the iPod 6th generation touch and 4th generation nano is the Tuffshield screen protectors, made with high-end materials and formulated to create the best protection from scratches, at least according to what the manufacturer has to say on this toipic.

The XtremeMac iPod touch and nano cases and shields range from $12.99 to $29.99 U.S. MSRP, which makes them affordable enough, especially for those people out there who're going to purchase a new iPod either for themselves or for their friends/family this Christmas.

However, if we are to believe the latest statistics, it would seem that the iPod touch and nano won't be exactly top picks on Christmas shopping lists this year, many people opting for that other major product from Apple, the iPad (Xtreme Mac is covered here too, offering several interesting protective solutions).
