Dreamlinux, a Linux distribution based on Debian and Morphi, featuring a selection of the best applications designed to meet most of the users’ daily needs, is now officially dead.

Dreamlinux 5.0 was the last version released in the series. It featured Linux kernel 3.1, Xfce 4.8, and was based largely on Debian 7 Wheezy.

Andre Felipe Junqueira , Artwork Graphic Designer for Dreamlinux, made the sad announcement on the official website.

“The Dreamlinux Project has been discontinued. The GTK themes, icon theme and windows theme are made available below to be used by other distros and users. The themes are licensed under GPL (and therefore, free of charge). If anyone wants to modify or redistribute them, feel free. The Dreamlinux team is grateful to the opensource community for all the support,” stated Andre Felipe Junqueira.

Not all distributions make it this far. Dreamlinux distribution was a very popular operating system and we are sorry to see it disappear.

There are too many distros around and its killing Linux! And this is a side effect...
Only sub10 distros are enough for Linux world for now i guess. Ubuntu, Suse, Redhat, Debian etc.

Yep, sure. Killing Linux. Not running for the resus trolley yet... the whole *point* of Linux is: you can have it your way. But no one GETS that.
Same old rubbish. "Too many distros is killing Linux." Read that somewhere? Not an original concept, you know.
