Ragnar Tornquist, the leader of the team at Red Thread who is currently working on Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, says that his project was planned with Kickstarter in mind from the get to and the main reason for its success is the hard work of the team.

He tells Gamasutra, during the Digital Dragons festival in Poland, that, “It really is a full-time job, and it's a combination of pitching a product to a publisher, and selling a product to your customers.”

In order to motivate his team, Tornquist approached the entire process like a game, but he was initially pessimistic about the evolution of Dreamfall Chapters.

The developer also emphasizes that Kickstarter brings teams closer to the fan base and explains how a big injection of choice will make The Longest Journey an experience that the community will love.

The game is expected to arrive in November of next year.
