Red Thread Games have received a $144,000 / €104,598 grant from the Norwegian Film Institute for their first-person survival horror adventure Draugen that will be available for PC, Mac and Linux as well as next-gen consoles.

Those that might not know the game, it is a horror adventure as I have said before, and presents a story set in the 1920s amongst the fjords and a misty mountains of the Norwegian west coast, in a tiny fishing settlement where every living being has vanished.

What makes it stand out from other games is the fact that it depicts how an American nature photographer, botanist and entomologist perceives his journey into the core of Norwegian national romanticism.

Interested players should know that the story is inspired by Scandinavian literature, legends as well as Norse mythology and Icelandic sagas.

The developing team is currently looking for a talented designer/scripter and 3D artist/level designer to join their team.

For more information on the game, check out Draugen's official website.
