14 DAY TRIAL // After last week’s MET Gala 2014 and the afterparty, on their way down to the car, in the elevator, Solange and Jay Z were involved in a very violent altercation, after she furiously attacked him. Beyonce looked on, apparently unfazed, as footage from the surveillance camera revealed.
While fans are speculating on what might have caused this violent outburst from Beyonce’s sister, to the point where she had to be physically restrained by the bodyguard to prevent her from actually harming the rapper, Drake has reportedly already made up his mind.
Of course, fans probably know that Drake and Jay are not exactly best friends; on the contrary, they have been rivals for some time, though, in terms of financial success, the Canadian star is still a long way from even coming close to being Jay Z’s direct rival.
Either way, Drake thinks that, regardless of Solange’s inappropriate response (because violence is never the answer), it was prompted by something that Jay did or said to her. So, the Canadian rapper is of the opinion that, as the saying goes, Jay “had it coming.”
“He thinks that HOV probably said some [mess]ed up stuff to her, or tried to come off like he’s the illest person who’s ever walked the face of the earth, like he portrays in his music,” an insider close to Drake tells Hollywood Life.
“Solange probably got tired of Jay Z’s hype and tried to bring him back to earth,” adds the source. Whichever the case, at least Drake had fun with the footage: “D thought it was funny and watched it on repeat about ten times while laughing his [butt] off.”
The footage is also embedded below but, no matter how funny Drake did or did not find it, it is not. As various celebrity pundits have already pointed out, the video could be used as evidence in a battery / assault case, and no judge would probably side with Solange on the basis that she had been “provoked” into being this violent.
We might never find out what sparked this fury in the singer or whether it had been fueled by alcohol and / or drugs, as some reports say it was, but no matter what, violence should never be an answer.
