Drakan: The Ancients' Gates is a videogame developed by Surreal Software Inc. and published by Sony Computer Entertainment of America. The game was only released for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony and launched in January 2002.
The title can be classed as being a cross between role playing gaming and an adventure experience, with some medieval and fantasy elements. It is being played from a third person perspective.
Drakan: The Ancients' Gates is a pretty typical role playing fantasy experience that came out at a moment when developers and publishers were interested in cashing in on a trend. There's a very old and somewhat decaying world, that of Drakan, which is depicted using the full-fledged possibilities of the PlayStation 2.
There are, of course, immortal and very powerful Spirit Dragons held captive within it. There are the protagonists, which are a Dragon, called Arokh, and a very capable and female warrior, called Rynn. They need to save the aforementioned spiritual leaders in order to restore the world to its former glory.
Drakan: The Ancients' Gates has eight different environments that can be explored, there are 50 weapons, which the characters can use and a wide array of spells that can be employed in order to defeat the various enemies and reach the goal of the game. One of the most interesting aspects of the game is the way the areas are designed, with particular attention to creating truly exotic locales.
GLITCHES
Disappearing characters
Be careful when entering into the Northern Tundra. Make sure Aarokh is with you when you first enter. If he is not, abort the game and get him. He will disappear from the game if you leave Ravenshold without him, and you wukk have to start over. Note: Always save your game on more than one slot. Although it takes a lot of memory, it is not worth losing all your work.
