The budding free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game Dragons and Titans has just kicked off the Spring Season with a generous prize pool as well as with some much-needed updates to the core gameplay experience.

Dragons and Titans has players assume control of a Dragon Lord and then head off into battle in order to release their captured Titan so that he can rule freely for another hundred years, while their opponents attempt to do pretty much the same, in a glossed-over version of the classical MOBA "kill the main building" mechanic.

Players can select from a multitude of different dragons with unique abilities, as well as pick a ranged weapon and spells to use inside the arena, and then engage in fast-paced battles in a variety of settings and modes, ranging from the classical 5v5 co-op mode up to single-player adventures in the numerous campaign missions.

We have a Dragons and Titans review from a while back but, since then, developer Wyrmbyte has been hard at work attempting to fix the game's glaring issues, as well as the more subtle ones.

Listening to feedback from the community, the devs have implemented numerous changes to Dragons and Titans, starting with an improved control scheme that allows players to use the familiar click to move system, complete with auto-targeting and key binding, making controls more streamlined for players coming from other MOBA games.

The improved control scheme also includes the ability to strafe and allows for more strategic gameplay opportunities, beyond the initial firing while backpedaling or simply pushing forward, with players also having the option to utilize the legacy controls.

In addition to this, Wyrmbyte has also added a new dragon to the game, increasing the roster of available flying beasts. Icemaul dragons are kings of the polar reaches, cruel masters of the cold wielding stormy abilities and devastating siege attacks. The accompanying introductory trailer also shows the Icemaul's ability to use its long-range attack to break up enemy formations and even reclaim lost territory.

But the biggest news is the debut of the new Spring Season, taking place from now up until June 30, with a new generous prize pool for the top players to compete for. Apart from the exclusive Spring Season avatar, which will be awarded to the best 100 players in Dragons and Titans, the top player in the US will also win a Gigabyte BRIX Gaming Ultra Compact PC, powered by an AMD A8 APU and AMD Radeon R9 M275X graphics card, with the next 4 contenders also winning some neat prizes, in the form of AMD Radeon R7 200 Series graphics card from Gigabyte.

Dragons and Titans is available on Steam, and players interested in giving it a go can simply download the client and play free of charge.
