Video game publisher Capcom believes that its upcoming Dragon’s Dogma action role-playing game shares some DNA with the Monster Hunter franchise and hopes that some fans will try and expand their gaming horizons via the new game.

Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who is the producer working on Dragon’s Dogma, told Destructoid that, “We think that Monster Hunter fans out there will like Dragon’s Dogma as well.”

He added, “Even though the action’s not the same, they’ll find a lot of elements, a lot of Capcom action elements that they’ll really enjoy.”

The main difference between the two games when it comes to combat mechanic is the grab abilities, which allow both players and monsters to grab one another and then perform a number of powerful attacks.

The producer of Dragon’s Dogma also stated that the core quest line for the game is 50 hours long and that the completionist gamer who also delves into all the sidequests can easily spend 200 hours in the game world.
