All the dialog aimed for a high fantasy narrative feeling

Video game publisher Capcom has announced that the localization work for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma has been influenced by the pace and the feel of A Song of Ice and Fire, the very popular fantasy series from author R.R. Martin.

The development team had to translate 42,000 lines of dialogue into six languages while keeping the entire story clear and making sure that they respect cultural sensibilities.

For the English version, there are 20 hours of fully voiced dialog and 400 characters that were molded in order to have a high fantasy feeling.

Dragon’s Dogma will be launched by Capcom during May and a demo will be offered on April 24 in North America and one day later in Europe.

The game features a central character who has his heart literally taken out of his chest by a dragon and includes a new and innovative Pawn system that blends companions and multiplayer gameplay.
