The upcoming Dragon Quest X Japanese role-playing game will ask gamers to create three different characters in the first few hours of the game and will use them for very different gameplay purposes.

Initially, the game will require the player to create a player character from scratch and then design a sibling of the opposite sex.

These two will only be available in the offline portion of the game and will never be able to leave the core village.

Once the player seeks to explore the area around that village, he will be required to create yet another character, from one of the non-human races that Dragon Quest X offers.

Players will need to choose from: Human, Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Puklipo, and Weddie.

The JRPG will be launched exclusively on the Nintendo Wii during Japan and a version for the upcoming Wii U is also set to arrive this year.
