In Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, players can take on their friends in intense wireless multiplayer battles employing all the most exhilarating aspects of Dragon Ball Z combat, including counter-attacks, super high-speed bouts, flight and Ki (energy) management, all via an enhanced version of the renowned Saiyan Overdrive Fighting System. In single-player mode, players will be able to challenge some of the most evil characters ever seen in a comic-based video game, or select multiplayer and play as the bad guys themselves, becoming the most feared and powerful warriors in the universe.
Cheats
Dragon Radar mini-game: Press L at the main menu and "Dragon Click" will appear on the Dragon Radar. Press R to play a mini game where you must press R repeatedly before time expires.
Dragon Player sound test: Successfully complete Dragon Road mode, then press L at the main menu. "Dragon Player" will appear on the Dragon Radar.
Adult Gohan (Super Saiyan 2 form): Defeat Broly in Chapter 2-6 of Dragon Road mode.
Adult Gohan (Super Saiyan form): Defeat Frieza in Chapter 1-8 of Dragon Road mode.
Cell (Super Perfect form): Defeat Cell in Chapter 2-5 of Dragon Road mode.
Gogeta: Successfully complete the last chapter by taking the bottom path.
Goku (Kaioken form): Defeat Krillin in Chapter 1-2 of Dragon Road mode.
Goku (Super Saiyan 2 form): Defeat Fake Goku in Chapter 2-2 of Dragon Road mode.
Goku (Super Saiyan form): Defeat Janemba in Chapter 1-9 of Dragon Road mode.
Gotenks: Defeat
Gotenks in Chapter 1-4 of Dragon Road mode.
Gotenks (Super Saiyan form): Defeat Gotenks in Chapter 1-5 of Dragon Road mode.
Piccolo (fuse with Kami Form): Defeat Cell in Chapter 2-1 of Dragon Road mode.
Pikkon: Defeat Janemba in Chapter 2-9 of Dragon Road mode.
Majin Vegeta: Use SS3 Goku to defeat Vegeta in Chapter 4 of Dragon Road mode, then complete the rest of the chapter.
Vegeta (Super Saiyan 2 form): Defeat Janemba in Chapter 2-7 of Dragon Road mode.
Vegeta (Super Saiyan form): Defeat Android #18 in Chapter 2-3 of Dragon Road mode.
Vegeto: Successfully complete the last chapter by taking the top path.
Start transformed: Hold R while selection a transformed character at the selection screen.
Gain energy: Press Select in Practice mode to get you energy up immediately.
Goku or Teen Gohan: Easy win: While at character selection screen, choose Goku Super Sayain or Teen Gohan Super Sayain 2. While fighting as either character, have their energy gauges go up to maximum. If using Teen Gohan, while his energy is at maximum, make him turn Super Sayain 2. While fighting Gohan with Goku, let Gohan use Father-Son Kamehameha. Before Gohan releases the attack, make Goku use Spirt Bomb. When the attacks connect, press Down + Circle. This will make Goku turn Super Sayain and will also give the Spirit Bomb an extra plus to deflect Gohan's attack. This technique can only be used if your attack is persistent. This technique can also be used with Teen Gohan in Super Sayian 2 mode.
Piccolo: Easy win: While fighting with Piccolo, constantly press Square until his energy gauge is at the maximum. Then have Piccolo fuse with Kami. After that, use Piccolo's special "light grenade" to finish the match.
Super Saiyan 3: In order to get Super Saiyan 3 you have to complete all of Dragon Road, Chapter 5.
Card sheets: Get a "Z" rank (by winning all fights quickly with most of your health) on the indicated chapter to unlock the corresponding card sheet. No. 13: Chapter 1 No. 14: Chapter 2 No. 15: Chapter 3 No. 16: Chapter 4 No. 17: Chapter 5
Round two announced instead of round one: Switch the language to Japanese. When you play, it will say round two on the first round.
