The game that Dragon Ball Z fans have been waiting for is finally here! Dragon Ball Z: Sagas is an action-adventure title that covers the major plot points in the animated series, from the Saiyan Saga through the Cell Games Saga. It goes where no Dragon Ball Z game has gone before-everywhere! Dragon Ball Z: Sagas lets you control ten of the hit animated series' most powerful characters in scenarios that cover more than two-thirds of the Dragon Ball Z storyline. While strength, speed, and the power of Ki are crucial, how you employ them is the key to victory.

Tips

Dragon Ball Z: Sagas starts you off strong, but you need to be stronger. Experiment with all the available upgrades and spend your Z coins wisely when it counts. The first purchase, in Special Moves, is mandatory, but after that you're free to focus on Ki Attacks, Combo Attacks, or Special Moves-you can even spread your coins around to build a well-rounded fighter. Focus on the items under Ki Attacks and Melee Attacks first-the Combo Attacks are useful, but you have to commit quite a lot of coin to get to the most powerful combos at the bottom of the tree. As soon as you can throw a few coins into your Combo upgrades, make sure to pick up the Melee Attack upgrade called Unblockable Finishers, which pumps up the damage and visuals of your Combo Attacks.

Smart Money
The first two upgrades to purchase (after the mandatory Special Moves) are both defensive, but they are essential to long-term success. The Combo Breaker lets you interrupt any enemy's longer attack strings with the press of a button. Boss combos are especially
painful, so you need this upgrade as soon as possible. Enemies start using Combo Breakers on you very early on, so get your own CB quickly if you don't want to be outclassed from the get-go. The second (and far less crucial) upgrade should be Quick Recovery, because the odds are you're going to get tagged at some point-there's too much high-octane opposition to dodge or avoid every blow that comes your way. Quick Recovery reduces the amount of time you spend stunned, which is when you're most vulnerable; the quicker you get up, the quicker you can go back on the offensive.

As for offense, the Roundhouse Kick is strong against grunts and bosses alike, and virtually guarantees a knockdown. The Uppercut is also good on its own or coupled with the Smash upgrade as a follow-up-if you don't have Smash, then you can Ki-blast your opponent in midair like a clay pigeon. The Throw is fun to watch, especially when you heave your foe all the way to the horizon (where the impact can destroy a whole mountaintop), but it inflicts the least damage-save it for later when you've already bought all the A-list upgrades.

Ki to Your Kingdom
Ki attacks are your most powerful weapon, but only if they hit the target. All the boss characters can move so fast they appear to be blinking in and out of sight, and they can dodge any blast you send their way. Conserve your precious Ki meter and get in close (the Teleport upgrade is custom-made for this), where you can throw a few punches or kicks or even a longer combo. When you have the bad guy stunned, fire your Ki blast. If you want a sure hit, smack them down with the Uppercut/Smash combo or knock them in the dirt with the Roundhouse Kick-these potent attacks leave your victim stunned, on the ground, and an easy target.

It's important to keep your Ki meter at least halfway charged so you always have a Special Move ready. Make sure to fully recharge after a skirmish so you're topped off when the next one starts. You don't have to wait to recharge, either-if you have a second or two in the middle of the fight and your meter is only down a quarter, go ahead and charge it back up to full. Also remember that your Ki meter automatically fills every time you collect ten yellow Ki capsules to extend the meter's length (the same goes for your health meter and the health capsules).
