Dark Horse, the comic company, and developer BioWare, have announced that they are working together on a new comic book series called Dragon Age: Those Who Speak, which will be launched on August 22 and will run for three issues.

The plot of Those Who Speak will be centered around Alistatir, who in this continuity is the King of Ferelden, the pirate Isabela, who played a central role in Dragon Age II, and the dwarf Varric, the unreliable narrator.

They will be leaving their familiar locations and will quest in what is described as an “empire of evil mages,” which probably means Tevinter.

Those Who Speak is being written by David Gaider, the leading author of the Dragon Age series, and by Alexander Freed, a senior writer on the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

BioWare has dropped hints that Dragon Age III is in development, but the company has not officially announced the existence of the game.
