The EA2D division of Electronic Arts has managed to create a long-term hit with Dragon Age: Legends, its Facebook-powered mix between tactical battles, characters development and social interaction, and now the team is working with a number of other developers to create a Remix version of the game.

Dragon Age: Remix will be playable on IGN and has been created by Evan Miller aka “PixelAnte,” who has previously created titles like Hunted Forever, Pixel Legions and ImmorTall, with the launch date set for May 16.

Ethan Levy, who is the producer of Dragon Age: Legends, has told IGN that they idea to create an alternate take on the game came from his background in DJing, stating, “In electronic music, truly inspirational remixes come about when one great musician hands their source material to another great musician with a strong personal perspective or style, and gives them the freedom to interpret that track as their own. I wanted to find out what would happen if we took the same approach with game development.”

Remix will star Ravi, who is just an unplayable quest giver in Legends, and the game will see the player control the legendary hero as he travels the land in order to recover two pieces of gear once used by another mythical hero, Evra, which is also mentioned in Dragon Age II.

Levy describes Remix is “fast, fluid fun” aiming to be the most accessible hack and slash title on the market.

The game will have a complex move set for the main character, which enables a number of ways to approach any fight.

Those who play all the way through Remix will be able to get 15 unique gifts for Dragon Age: Legends.

The developers at EA2D are also continuing work on their core Dragon Age game, adding more quests for players to complete and introducing a daily set of luck-based challenges.
