Video game developer BioWare says that it has no plans to support technologies like Kinect, Move or SmartGlass for its upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, but might use them in future content associated with the series.

The only condition is that the community of gamers embraces the new technologies and shows the team that they are ready to use them constantly in order to enhance their experience.

Cameron Lee, a producer working on the title, tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “We’ve looked at it, the SmartGlass stuff, Kinect, PS4′s Move and all that. One of the advantages of shipping a year after everyone else is that we get to see how everybody responds to these things, during the new generation.”

He adds, “It was an interesting experience with Kinect on Mass Effect, and we’ve got a lot of the telemetry from Mass Effect 3 about how players used it, so we’ve certainly investigated quite deeply the difference between options.”

Traditionally, motion tracking, like Kinect and Move, has only been used for a limited set of games that rely heavily on motion for their gameplay.

Microsoft claims that the version of the tech included in the Xbox One is more capable and can be used in a wider variety of genres.

BioWare says that the new Dragon Age is designed to deliver a bigger game world while also making sure that players have more options to customize their characters and their accompanying party.

The story of the game will focus on a tear in the Fade, which allows demons and other creatures to pour in, with the gamers guiding an Inquisitor as he tries to unify the Templars, the Chantry and the Mages against the new threat.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launched in late 2014 on the PC, the PlayStation 4, PS3, the Xbox One and the 360.
