The team at BioWare aims to make the new Dragon Age: Inquisition a more choice-driven experience than previous titles in the series, but the core structure will not be that of an open world game, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Mike Laidlaw, the creative director at the studio, tells Game Informer that "I think that when you make a series of games you need to find what works with that series of games, you need to cultivate fans that have stuck with you and are really passionate."

The developer does suggest that BioWare might create an open world in the near future.

The more linear structure of Dragon Age: Inquisition will allow the team to create a better story and characters that players will be able to connect with.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in autumn 2014.
