The development team at BioWare is giving fans of the Dragon Age series some more information about the structure of the coming Inquisition, focused on the way dragons will behave in the game and how they can be defeated.

Mike Laidlaw, the creative director working on the game, tells Game Informer that, "I see a dragon as something you aspire to. You see it flying overhead and make future plans. ‘I’ve seen that there’s a dragon. I know what kind of environment I’m going to be up against. I know what I’m going to fight on my way in. So I’m going to need to prepare accordingly’."

The team will not make enemies scale to player level in Dragon Age: Inquisition because it wants gamers to have a guided experiences, with some areas that cannot be entered until a player has enough experience and a level up character.

Dragons will serve as mostly gates to different acts of the game and most of the encounters will be entirely options, allowing teams to make sure that they have the required skills to battle them.

BioWare is also introducing high dragons in the world, designed to give gamers rare loot and precious crafting materials.

Laidlaw adds, "Their environment should have some nice lead-in. You should feel that anticipation. You should clench up a little. And when they appear, they should be aware of the space in which you’re fighting them and be able to use that."

Dragon Age: inquisition will allow players to create specific gear to fight dragons and players will also have to observe their routines and adapt his own tactics.

BioWare says that the new game will have more dragon encounters than previous installments in the series.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launched on the PC, current gen consoles, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in late 2014.
