There are no plans to introduce a way to transfer items

Video game developer BioWare surprised a big chunk of the fan base for Dragon Age: Inquisition with the announcement of a multiplayer mode for the coming role-playing game, but it seems that those who only care about the story do not have to even acknowledge the existence of the new experience.

The official site explains that there are no plans to allow gamers to move items between the two modes because the point of view is entirely different and the power that the player wields is disproportionate.

BioWare claims that “We wanted to make sure that the two economies are separate, which will allow a stronger progression in both SP and MP. If you play Dragon Age multiplayer, you will learn how each class plays a different role in combat, how different skills work, and how your party composition can give you a tactical advantage on the battlefield. This knowledge is transferable to SP, but items are not.”

In the multiplayer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, gamers can choose from a number of about four characters for every class and then combine forces in order to create a solid team which can stand up to waves of enemies.

BioWare is including a special currency for the mode that can be acquired using real world money, but gamers will be restricted in what they can do with it.

Specifically, there are no plans to create a way to move items between gamers, so each equipped armor or weapon needs to be earned via gameplay or obtained from the official store.

The studio adds, “Dragon Age multiplayer won't have an auction house or another system to transfer items between players. If you are unhappy with an item, you can salvage it and get crafting materials. Better weapons give better crafting materials. You can use these materials craft new items in-game or at your Inquisition HQ.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launched on November 18 of this year on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and last-gen consoles.

When the game was delayed by a little more than one month, Electronic Arts and BioWare talked about the need for more polish, but the addition of multiplayer might be the reason why the team decided to push it back.

The core story of the game will involve the protagonist taking out a tear in the Veil which is allowing Fade demons to come into the world of the living.
