After teasing that more information about characters for the new Dragon Age: Inquisition will be offered during the E3 2014 trade event, the developers at BioWare are ready to give fans of the title full details about Sera, the rogue elf that can join their party.

Luke Kristjanson, a senior writer in charge of creating the character, tells the official site that, “Sera is brash and fun. She takes nothing seriously until it deserves to be taken seriously, and not much does. She’s only seen power from the underside, a view that gives her an almost complete lack of respect for the arrogance behind authority.”

She was designed to give players an interesting perspective on the conflicts that are shaping the world and how they are directly affecting the citizens that have no power to stop them in any way.

Dragon Age: Inquisition asks the player character to deal with a number of high-level questions and it seems that Sera will question his decisions at all times in order to point out how the majority of the population might suffer while those in power get their way.

Luke Kristjanson has worked at BioWare for 18 years and believes that the new elf rogue is one of the most interesting in terms of how she related to authority.

He adds, “Sera is raw and genuine. I’ve written plenty of characters who were too clever for their own good. Sera hasn’t had to test her beliefs, so she brings a level of honest discovery that is cutting and refreshing. I had a lot of fun with her voice in particular. The actor nailed it day one. From the first voice test, she was Sera. Her laugh is great.”

The director nature of the new character meshes well with her combat style, which is apparently based on fast movement and a desire to make sure that the entire party gets out alive from even the trickiest of situations.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing game that will take players to Orlais, where they will have to deal with a breach in the Veil that is allowing Fade demons to attack the world and with other side conflicts.

BioWare has promised a complex world, memorable character, high-level decisions and interesting quests to solve.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be out on October 7 of this year on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
