The development team at BioWare is continuing its big promotion push for Dragon Age: Inquisition, after the delivery of its impressive trailer earlier in the week, by revealing three of the especializations that gamers will be able to control in the coming role-playing title.

On the official site, the company confirms that players will initially need to choose between the traditional warrior, rogue and mage, but they will then have more specialization options as they progress through the story, which gives each gamer plenty of choices to create a unique character.

The warrior is the classic close combat specialist, ready to absorb damage and attract the attention of enemy leaders.

The Champion specialization, according to BioWare, is designed to defend and protect their companions, using their armor, weapon and abilities to read the battlefield and make sure that he holds the most important position while offering support to allies.

The rogue focuses on dagger, bows and dirty tricks and is designed to deal massive damage quickly, while avoiding enemy attacks.

One of the specializations of the class in Dragon Age: Inquisition is the Artificer, which BioWare says will focus on, “Intricate mechanisms are the core of the artificer's craft: Deadly traps; Distracting contraptions; Marvels of engineering turned to deadly purpose. If an artificer is standing at the far end of a seemingly innocuous stretch of the battlefield, you should find another path. If he or she is smiling? Best just to hope your affairs are in order.”

Mages can either deliver destruction at range or focus on weakening their foes in order to make them vulnerable to attack from allies.

The Knight Enchanter is atypical because he is basically a cross between a mage and a classic fighter.

BioWare says that, “Among the Circles of Magi, only a few mages have the strength of will necessary to focus their energy inward. Wrapped in protective magics and wielding blades of arcane force, the Knight Enchanters are rare, but inspiring sights as they lead the charge into enemy ranks.”

There are six other specializations that will be revealed before Dragon Age: Inquisition is launched on October 7 on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, current-gen consoles and the PC.

BioWare says that the new game is designed to be very reactive to the actions and decisions that the player is involved with, with a fully dynamic world that evolves as the story progresses in unique ways.
