Video game developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts are introducing a major new contest linked to Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is giving fans a chance to re-explore the world of Thedas and get access to some solid prizes in return.

The official site explains that a set of landmarks need to be located and investigated before agents sent by Corypheus get access to them, although their importance is at the moment unclear.

BioWare states, "The journey will not be easy, but you must discover these landmarks before our enemy does! Ambassador Montilyet has acquired many riches from sources throughout Thedas in support, and we look forward to bestowing them upon you in celebration of your success."

The studio explains that fans of Dragon Age: Inquisition will be able to complete most of the challenges linked to the landmark hunt by carefully exploring both the world and the lore in the official codex.

Interested players have until June 12 to submit images of their Inquisitor near the landmarks in order to capture them.

The full list of landmarks and challenges can be seen on the official site of the game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition fans who compete have a chance to get access to an Xbox One console, a copy of the Inquisitor edition of the game, and a signed copy of the art book for the title.

BioWare says that there are 11 other sets of prizes for those who complete at least some of the challenges.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to get more content in 2015

It's unclear whether the landmark hunt is designed to kick-off a new series of events linked to the role-playing game, which might draw in fans that are no longer playing at the moment.

BioWare is also running regular multiplayer events for Dragon Age: Inquisition and has recently delivered new enemies and more character classes to use for those modes.

The studio has also said that it plans to offer more single-player content for the title before the end of the year.

The fan community has received well the first DLC, called Jaws of Hakkon, and the story contained within expanded the universe of Dragon Age: Inquisition in some interesting ways.

BioWare is at the moment working on a new Star Wars title, but no details about it have been offered so far.
