14 DAY TRIAL // During its quarterly financial earnings report, Electronic Arts praises Dragon Age: Inquisition, the latest game that arrived from its BioWare studio, confirming that it's the most successful launch in the history of the developer, dethroning the previous Mass Effect 3.
BioWare has been around for quite some time and launched many different role-playing experiences, including major franchises like Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, or Dragon Age.
So far the best-selling title was Mass Effect 3, the role-playing shooter that came out in 2012 and concluded the trilogy of titles focusing on Commander Shepard.
Inquisition is the latest big success
Now, the latest project, Dragon Age: Inquisition, has dethroned the sci-fi title, as Electronic Arts confirms, via Reddit, that the medieval fantasy RPG had the most successful launch in BioWare's history.
While no specific sales figures have been offered by the publisher, it has gone on to mention that over 113 million hours have been spent by players in the sprawling RPG.
"Dragon Age: Inquisition captivated fans and critics worldwide as it launched in November, and it quickly became the most successful launch in BioWare history. More than 113 million hours have already been spent exploring the depth and detail of the single-player experience in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and more players are joining each day," the large publisher confirms.
Expect more DLC
Given this huge success, you can bet that EA is going to supplement the funds for BioWare relating to new content for the Inquisition.
The first add-on for the RPG already launched last year, in the form of the Destruction expansion for the cooperative multiplayer mode in Inquisition. It added fresh paths through the three large levels but also new enemies in the form of big animals.
BioWare has already promised story-based DLC but that's still far away. Until then, it's quite possible that more multiplayer content will appear.
