14 DAY TRIAL // Dragon Age: Inquisition, the most recent role-playing experience from BioWare, has too many fetch quests, according to The Witcher 3 Lead Quest Designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewic, who still says that he liked the recent title.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most anticipated role-playing experiences set to debut this year, and the last few months have seen quite a few major rivals appear, chief among which being Dragon Age: Inquisition from BioWare.
Inquisition had a few too many fetch quests
As you can imagine, CD Projekt Red's different team members did go on to play Dragon Age: Inquisition, and The Witcher 3's Lead Quest Designer talks a bit with Eurogamer Germany about the RPG and how it dealt with its quests.
According to Tomaszkiewic, he likes the overall story in Inquisition, but after taking a bit of time to think about it, he emphasizes that a lot of the quests were of the "fetch that, do this" variety, at least in his personal opinion.
Even so, he says that the fetch quests added variety, which is never a bad thing when it comes to role-playing games.
The Witcher 3 dev praises Fallout: New Vegas quests
Among the role-playing experiences that had the most impressively designed quests is Fallout: New Vegas, as Tomaszkiewic believes that the RPG made by Obsidian Entertainment a few years ago created a good mix of story and world quests. He also praises that the faction missions were interesting ones that added more info to those groups, through what players had to do.
As such, it's quite possible that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have less fetch quests than Inquisition and more missions that flesh out the world and its different factions, just like New Vegas.
You can bet that more details about the game's quests will appear in the following months, as we get closer to its launch on May 19, worldwide, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
