Gamers will have to deal with battles from the past and the present

The development team at BioWare is starting to offer fans of the coming title a look at an entirely new area of the game, the Exalted Plains of the Dales, a land that's characterized by a rich history and by an important role in the present.

The team explains in a blog post that, "It was here, centuries ago, that the elven nation met its bitter end. On these fields, the holdouts of the elven army faced the forces of the human Chantry and died, defending their promised land to the last breath. This legacy of conflict has endured, and battle once again rages in the Dales."

When players visit the Exalted Plains of the Dales, they explore an important and contested area during the Civil War that rages in Orlais and the battles between soldiers are complemented by the attacks launched by spirits that possess the dead and attack the living.

The problems seen in the new area are linked to the wider issues caused by the tear in the Fade, which allows demons to pour into the world, and by the conflict between the Chantry, the Mages and the Templars.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launched during the fall on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
