The development team at BioWare is delivering a new screenshot linked to its upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is designed to show off the new Exalted Plains of the Dales area, which has recently received more details from the studio.

The image does not show any characters or any creatures and is mainly used to show off the variety of flora and landscapes that gamers will be able to explore.

On the official Facebook page of Dragon Age: Inquisition, the company only states, “The Exalted Plains of the Dales are characterized by equal measures of beauty and strife.”

The area will be one of the ones that players will need to explore and dominate during their travel to Orlais and comes with a unique history.

It served as a battlefield when the Chantry and the Elves fought a series of wars over control of the land and is currently once more a hotspot as armies are facing off against each other in the civil war that is raging across the country.

The tear in the Fade that’s affecting the entire continent also means that the bounds between the real world and the spirit space are weakening, which means that the fighters of today might come face to face with those who battle on the Exalted Plains of the Dales many centuries before.

BioWare will offer more details about the area later during the week in order to increase the anticipation among the fans of the Dragon Age series.

The studio is introducing a range of new concepts linked to the zones that gamers will explore and the developers are saying that players will be able to establish their own bases, change the layout of the land and even hunt some species to extinction.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will use the Frostbite 3 engine to deliver unparalleled graphics quality and the new screenshot of the Exalted Plains of the Dales is also designed to show gamers the beauty of the world that they will be fighting in.

The title is designed to focus on an entirely new protagonist, an Inquisition, who needs to deal with the mentioned tear in the Fade, while also making peace between the Mages, Templars and Chantry.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be launched on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the PC at some point during autumn, although no actual date has yet been offered.
