Dragon Age: Inquisition is one of the biggest fall launches for the publishing team at Electronic Arts, which has even delayed the title to make sure that BioWare has the time to polish the experience, and the developers are ready to offer more details about the creation process for the title.

On the official Twitter account of the studio, the team says that there are moments when those involved tend to argue about the best concepts before they settle on the core mechanics they will implement in the final product.

Mike Laidlaw, the leader of the team, adds, “We want you to be able to craft your own adventure, so it's up to you how much you want to do before you finish the game.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing game with team-based mechanics that can be enjoyed even by those who have not played the previous titles in the series.

BioWare aims to combine the best elements of the two experiences in order to satisfy as many of the fans as possible, but a host of entirely new mechanics are also introduced.

Somewhat confusingly given its name, the new BioWare game will not be focused on a final fight against one of the Blights that regularly plague the world and tend to corrupt the essence of a powerful dragon.

Instead, gamers will have to move across Thedas in order to find out the cause of a rupture in the Veil which is currently allowing the demons from the Fade to invade the world of the living.

In order to achieve the goal, the player will have to build up the institution of the Inquisition by battling enemies, creating diplomatic solutions for conflicts, and by recruiting a range of powerful characters to help.

BioWare says that the entire game will offer very varied narratives based on the choices that gamers make and that one playthrough will only show some of the possibilities included by the studio.

The combat mechanics have been improved over previous titles in the franchise, and gamers will be able to choose to approach battles tactically or focus on the action elements.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be out on November 18 in the United States and three days later in Europe and can be played on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PC and last-gen consoles.
