BioWare doesn't deny the existence of an online mode in Inquisition outright

Dragon Age: Inquisition developer BioWare has revealed that a multiplayer mode for the upcoming RPG is "improbable," shying away from denying such a feature outright .

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the next big project from BioWare, promising to deliver a sprawling open-world role-playing game experience that takes the title back to the roots of the franchise.

So far, BioWare has focused on detailing the single-player campaign, which focuses on the Inquisitor and his or her efforts to stop a cataclysmic event, and has shied away from talking about a possible multiplayer mode.

Considering the cooperative experience in BioWare's previous game, Mass Effect 3, was a big success, many fans are hoping that the studio is going to repeat things with Inquisition.

When asked by fans about a possible Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer reveal at Gamescom, BioWare's Mike Laidlaw replied on Twitter that "We have not discussed any multiplayer component, so, improbable."

As such, while fans should lower their expectations about playing Inquisition cooperatively with friends, Laidlaw doesn't outright dismiss the possibility of seeing a multiplayer experience in Inquisition.

As of yet, BioWare has teased a major new intellectual property that's going to be revealed at Gamescom 2014 next week, so it's unclear whether the studio will make another announcement concerning Dragon Age: Inquisition.
