Players can't progress due to the wild animals

Dragon Age: Inquisition received its first multiplayer add-on, in the form of the Destruction DLC, yesterday and players are already reporting that a gamebreaking bug is now present, preventing people from completing online matches.

Dragon Age: Inquisition launched last month across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms and delivered a complex role-playing experience that included not just an expansive single-player story campaign but also a dynamic cooperative multiplayer one.

Some time has passed since then and now those who have already completed a playthrough of the story are jumping into the multiplayer mode. For them, developer BioWare has rolled out the very first downloadable expansion designed specifically for the online mode, in the form of the Destruction one.

The new DLC brings fresh mechanics but also a new problem

The add-on introduces new paths through the three main maps but also wild animals and creatures that roam around the battlefield.

Unfortunately, while the new paths are certainly impressive, the animals bring alongside them a gamebreaking bug, as reported by quite a few people on Reddit.

More specifically, if players kill the enemy faction in a section of the map and then animals spawn, the key required to continue into the next zone no longer appears. As such, players are unable to continue and must quit the game, forfeiting any gold or experience they acquired in that session.

"If the last enemy to be killed in any given zone is an animal, the key to the next area will not drop. In a zone with animals present, the last enemy to be killed must be from the enemy faction. This bug has been tested and replicated several times in different circumstances with the same results," one of the users says.

Many people are reporting the issue but others have no problems

Others chime in with the same problems, but there are also people who went through the same situation as they killed the enemies and then the animals, and the key did drop.

Some of us here at Softpedia have also experienced the issue while exploring the Tevinter Ruins on the Threatening difficulty level and it's unclear if the problem is present just on that map or on higher difficulties.

The missing key bug was also present in the first iteration of the game before the second patch came out earlier this month, so it seems that the mechanic is causing some problems.

As of yet, BioWare hasn't talked about the issues that have appeared since the latest multiplayer add-on got released.
